2 amazing hair salons in Milan your friends will ask you about after seeing your new look

Hair Salons in Milan

Are you in the mood for a complete colour and style change, or do you just need a quick trim? Here are two really cool hair salons in Milan – with a completely different approach and in different areas of the city.

Luciano Colombo

On the elegant Corso Magenta, at a stone’s throw from Cenacolo Vinciano ‒ where Leonardo’s “Last supper” can be admired ‒ and inside a marvellous Milanese courtyard, Luciano Colombo is the go-to beauty destination if you’re looking for wearable, no-nonsense haircuts, truly bespoke colouring and styling, or simply an expert blow dry.

Great attention to detail has always been an essential part of Luciano Colombo’s philosophy.

If you want a treatment that nourishes the hair while giving it a warm glow in various shades, try the numerous henna available in the salon, that are kept inside really pretty glass jars.

The atmosphere is calming and friendly, paired with elegant interiors in light and relaxing tones. Spend a couple of hours here, and you’ll leave the salon looking your best.

Personal experience: Luciano Colombo’s top colourist managed to fix the unflattering greenish/yellowish nuance that had taken hold of my hair ‒ the result of a very unfortunate home-made attempt. It taught me a lesson (avoid DIY endeavours when it comes to dyeing my hair) but, silver lining, it made me discover this great place.

KULT.Milano

This hair salon ‒ which is “much more than just a salon” ‒ is in the Navigli district, in a picturesque courtyard of the so-called Old Milan.

Why much more than just a salon? Because it is the ideal place for a complete style makeover, with a team of stylists who will take care of your hair and a beauty centre to restore your skin’s radiance. And, if you are a tattoo lover, Kult also offers an in-house tattoo studio.

The style and furnishings of the salon are avant-garde and decidedly unconventional. In a generously-sized room lit by large windows, modern cutting/colouring stations alternate with retro-style furnishings, with wooden counters, raw leather armchairs and large green plants. From the bleached wooden ceiling with exposed beams hang variously shaped pendant lamps made of glass.

The originality of the interior and furnishings perfectly matches the high level of creative experimentation of Kult’s stylists. If you want a completely new look with a touch of extravagance, Kult is your go-to place.

Choose a bold and daring colour (for example fuchsia or bi-colour effects) and a truly cutting-edge and geometric cut and you won’t go unnoticed. Of course, you can also opt for a more traditional style, and your expectations will be amply met.

Kult’s stylists will always advise you on the style that best enhances your features and suits your needs.
