What is Camiciecoraggiose? It is a collection of shirts in printed fabrics with bright, vibrant and exciting colours, perfect for expressing your personality and your “courage” to be yourself (hence the name), and creating a look that reflects your real taste without being influenced by passing trends.
Beatrice, the young Milanese designer who “invented” Camiciecoraggiose, is as courageous as the name of her brand. She left home at the age of 15 to study art in the United Kingdom, then moved to Switzerland where she graduated from the University of the Arts in Zurich. And it was there, in her early twenties, that she came up with the idea of creating her own line of shirts, leveraging her artistic talent.
Beatrice realised that there was no brand producing high-quality, colourful shirts that were entirely made in Italy, and were not a typical fast-fashion product (with its negative environmental and social impact).
She didn’t want to make polyester shirts ‒ a low quality synthetic fabric ‒ nor did she want to sell overpriced ones. So she chose viscose (a semi-natural fibre derived from plant cellulose) and cotton.
Design and production
Beatrice designs all the patterns for her shirts, initially on paper with tempera paints and markers; she then reproduces the pattern digitally. Her source of inspiration? Anything around her, from nature (like a strange butterfly from Madagascar) to art (such as Battló House in Barcelona – one of her creations is named after it).
But Camiciecoraggiose shirts are not only beautiful and vibrant, they are also environmentally friendly and entirely “invented” and produced in Milan and surrounding areas. Yes, because while the creative phase takes place in the city, the fabrics are printed near Como and the shirts are manufactured and sewn near Varese.
Last but not least, Camiciecoraggiose also sells really fun socks in the same printed fabrics used for their shirts.
