De Padova is one of the most extraordinary brands representing Milan interior design. If you visit one of their stores in the heart of the city, you will find absolutely everything to furnish your home in a way that is both sophisticated and functional.

How did the brand originate? It was all by chance, during a trip to Northern Europe that Maddalena De Padova took with her husband Fernando in the 1950s. There, Maddalena discovered a taste for modern, bright and elegant yet minimalist homes. This had a huge impact on her and set a guideline that still characterises De Padova today.

After a few years, the brand began to be inextricably linked to the most important names in both Italian and international design, like Vico Magistretti, Achille Castiglioni, Dieter Rams, but also Patricia Urquiola, Thomas Sandell and Studio Cerri & Associati.  Unsurprisingly, over the years Maddalena De Padova became known in Italy as “the lady of design”.

The year 2015 marks a milestone in the history of the brand, characterised by the birth of the Boffi/De Padova world, an ambitious interior design project in which different creative units – Boffi, De Padova and ADL – work together synergistically, combining technological innovation and manufacturing expertise to offer you a modern and true “way of living”. What does this mean in practical terms? It means that when you walk into a Boffi/De Padova store, you will find high-end solutions for every room of your home ‒ solutions where functionality and aesthetics are intertwined thanks to cutting-edge materials and ingenious design.

If you want to be inspired, you can for example step into the  De Padova store in Via Santa Cecilia, a lovely little street in the heart of Milan. You’ll find a 1,100 square metre space, with every type of solution for your home and the most wonderful design pieces.

For example, the “Everyday Life” collection by Paul Smith that includes a series of indoor and outdoor elements. Or the modular sofas “Landscape” designed by Piero Lissoni; or the “Auro” table in marble, created by the Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, available in elliptical or round versions; or even the lamps “Helium” or “Elementi” by Elisa Ossino. And, of course, historic pieces that have been part of De Padova’s offering for many years, such as the writing desk “Scrittarello” by Achille Castiglioni, perfect for your home office.

You’ll also be able to admire a truly brilliant and perfectly customisable series of partitioning solutions that discreetly blend into every area of your home. The materials used? Aluminium, glass, and high-quality materials such as stone, wood and metals.

You can also opt for a visit at the recently opened De Padova store in Via Manzoni, at a stone’s throw from Via Montenapoleone and the Fashion District.
