You’ve always wanted to dine at one of the finest restaurants with a view in Milan, perhaps with your partner for a romantic evening, or simply with your friends? Here are three places you need to discover (and then thank me for it)
Terrazza Duomo 21
I’ll say it straight away: the most extraordinary thing about this place is the priceless view of Milan Cathedral, one of the city’s most iconic symbols (if not the most iconic), with its 135 marble spires that crown the rooftop.
Terrazza Duomo 21 boasts very elegant indoor spaces that feature floor-to-ceiling windows and accommodate the dining area and a vibrant lounge bar.
And then of course there’s the spectacular terrace.
Savouring the specialties offered by Terrazza Duomo 21 while admiring the Duomo will be a special experience for you. The restaurant’s cuisine is inspired by Italian tradition as well as international cuisine, and is characterised by a common denominator: the excellent quality of the ingredients.
Terrazza Duomo 21 is not just an elegant restaurant. It’s also a lounge bar open all day, where you can enjoy a cocktail or a light lunch.

Terrazza Palestro
Terrazza Palestro overlooks Indro Montanelli Public Gardens ‒ one of Milan’s most beautiful and oldest parks, inaugurated in 1784.
The restaurant features an elegant indoor dining area, furnished in a classic yet contemporary style, and a wonderful outdoor covered terrace offering truly breathtaking views and surrounded by a frame of laurel and jasmine plants.
The terrace comprises a dining space with minimalist design tables, and a lounge area with comfortable sofas.
If the weather allows, I strongly recommend asking for a table on the terrace: it really enhances the experience.
What about the cuisine?
Chef Stefano Mocellin reinterprets traditional Mediterranean cuisine with unexpected twists. If you want to try something really unique, you can’t miss their signature dish called “L’illusione” which consists of a crème brulée made with Parmigiano Reggiano, Marzemino del Garda wine (evaporated to concentrate the flavour of this dish) and herbs.
The level of attention to every little detail is truly impeccable, and this will make your experience even more unforgettable.

Clotilde Brera
This restaurant is located in the heart of the fashionable Brera district, and it overlooks the splendid Piazza San Marco (San Marco square).
The interior spaces are furnished in a style that combines retro influences with more contemporary elements, blending elegance with a distinctly family atmosphere. Then there’s the stunning terrace where you can dine whilst admiring a wonderful view of the square; in the colder months, the terrace becomes a “verandaed” winter garden.
And the menu? First of all, it is renewed every three months to keep pace with the changing seasons. If you want to try something traditionally Milanese, you can’t miss the saffron risotto or the veal cutlet. The restaurant also offers creative interpretations of traditional dishes and the menu is almost entirely available in a gluten-free version.
Clotilde Brera welcomes you at any time of day, from breakfast to after-dinner cocktails.
